Baby gift registriesSo you are an expectant parent, and are about to celebrate the oncoming sleepless nights. While it is traditional for any parent to sign up for a baby gift registry, there are a few things to consider before creating a registry. Remember, it is important to keep in mind how many people may be purchasing gifts for your little one, and an average amount that any one gift giver will want to spend. This is especially crucial during times of hardship; and should take into account the high gas prices on everyone’s budget.
Remember, you should consider all of the possible gift giving opportunities. Whether you are having just one baby shower; or if you opt to have several (IE: a family baby shower, friends only baby shower, or even an office baby shower). While your family and friends might be more apt to shower your little one with more lavish gifts, you may find that your co-workers will front a maximum of about twenty dollars or less. For this reason you may wish to create two separate gift registries, or one for each party. You will then select items within the price range, that the potential gift givers may feel comfortable with spending. However, if you have one shin-dig you may wish to push your luck a little more; simply because the number of people attending your shower will add up quickly. When you are expecting a higher number of people in attendance, you should reflect the dollar amount in the registry; producing a high enough dollar value of the registry to accommodate the potential gift givers. This is simply due to the fact, that if one of your friends or family go to make a purchase on the registry; and nothing is remaining they will be left to their own devices to select a gift. To make things a little easier, you should select at least two items on any one registry per one person invited. This will enable your party guests to choose from several selections, without feeling pressured to spend more than their budget can handle. Once you have determined how many items will need to be on the list of goodies, it is then time to make your selections. Remember, that variety is the key to a good baby gift registry. Much like any other party guest, baby shower guests can be rather unpredictable. It is inevitable that everyone will have their own opinion about which items the mother will need the most for their new addition. While one family member or friend would purchase items like shampoo, and diaper cream for your infant; others may prefer to make a purchase from clothing items, or even car seats and cribs.
