When it comes to baby showers or gifts for new parents, the dad is usually left out of the fun. While It is traditional to shower the woman who is pregnant, rather than the one who had helped in the matter; a father also plays in important role in a child’s life. Without a father a child would not have a strong male role-model, and for this reason I find it important to support the father as well as the mother of a child. Now that we have brought up the touchy subject of gift-giving to fathers to be or new fathers, why not focus on the wonderful items that are now being catered to just dad’s?

Many companies are now taking heed from the consumer’s voice, creating original lines of father related items. Things from masculine diaper bags (usually in the style of a messenger bag) that can come in shads of black, grey, browns, and dusty blues; right down to a changing pad that isn’t pastel. Some companies even carry things such as the daddy diaper belt, that comes with ; diapers, scented diaper wipes, infant lotion, hand sanitizer, baby powder, and washcloth all that are confined within the handy daddy tool belt that sports a “Daddy’s on duty” logo on the front. This makes a darling gift for the soon to be dad, enabling him to feel as if he is a part of the celebration.

If the mother to be is still pregnant, you may wish to obtain a copy of the silly video “Due Dad’s” which is a video dedicated to the survival of the father through pregnancy. This item is sure to get a chuckle out of nearly any father. However if you aren’t in the mood for watching a movie, you may wish to obtain a similar paperback book or book on tape; along with the new dad’s survival kit which includes: a daddy diaper bag, a “I love my daddy” onesie, and a “cool daddy “ t-shirt for the father to be.

Many fathers may enjoy many of the above items, but none more than the one I am about to speak of. Nearly every father I have met enjoys reading to his children, enabling him to spend some much needed time with his offspring; and creating a strong bond with them. There are a few companies that offer infant and toddler book buckets and packs to get the new father started on the right foot. Along with these book packs, why not obtain a comfy new blanket and a couple throw pillows so that dad, and baby can be comfortable during this bonding time? Regardless of which items you choose, the father will surly enjoy the fact that he is getting a gift at all.
