Its that time of year, your daughter is about to reach another milestone in her life. She is finally reaching toddlerhood; unless of course she has already reached that milestone and is simply growing before your eyes. This is always a hard time for parents, watching their child grow so fast. However, it can also be a prideful time as you watch your daughter learn and grow. For this reason, it is important to hold a celebration of the day you became a parent. Generally speaking the first couple of birthday parties, are usually set up for the parent’s to enjoy. A more popular party theme is a Harry Potter party theme, while it may seem impossible it is fairly simple to create the perfect atmosphere. With a few decorating props you can help to create an enchanting space for your child’s party. You can create a few spider webs by using left over Halloween decorations, or quilt batting; and stringing them up on chairs and tables. You will then toss in some plastic spiders, twinkling party lights, plastic frogs and animals. You can also use colored water poured into jars for potion.

To create an extra special look you can use a poster board to create a sign from the Harry potter books or movie; and tape it onto the front door to greet your guests with the party theme. You will then use paper snow flakes and streamers to decorate a plain table cloth and the entire party area.

When your guests first arrive, give them a few hand made capes (made from cheap towels bought at a dollar store) as well as a wand. ( you can make wands out of dried up twigs from trees, or even tape up old paper towel rolls. Of course you should choose one to two games that your guests will play, and to include a cake that is within the theme of the party.
