Kimono style onesies

You may be asking yourself, what in the world is a kimono style onesie? And how does it differ from your normal onesie? Well, a kimono style onesie is fairly similar to that of your average onesie in cut only. They snap open, and they do not need to be pulled over the head! If your child is anything like my own, you will know that some children simply hate when a constricting onesie slides over his or her face; however, the kimono style onesie has made the whining and cringing a thing of the past. Even if your child seems to not have such a problem with your average onesie, it has been noted that most newborn infants do not enjoy clothing being pulled over their head; which can cause them frustration or discomfort.

Some of the kimono onesies are made of the same fabrics as your normal style onesies; however some can be found made from a natural source of bamboo. This is a wonderful thing, because bamboo is a natural antibacterial plant, so it has a tenancy to stay cleaner on your infant’s skin. It has been proven that bamboo has little risk of allergic reactions, such as its counterpart cotton or other synthetic fibers would.

Most of the kimono style onesies can be found in the same prints, and fun colors as their close cousins the normal onesie. The only difference, that the edges follow the snaps over the chest slightly; as the snaps form from the neck line all the way down to the crotch of the garment for easy changing and diapering of your child. While some parents think that this break up the onesie’s appeal, I would beg to differ; as it offers a slightly more interesting appeal to the child’s clothes.

You can find the kimono style onesies in many different fashions; and that would include the way it is closed as well. Whether you prefer the standard snaps that come on traditional onesies, or if you would like one with a more intricate design such as the tie-up kimono onesies; that utilize a number of loops and ribbons to tie the kimono onesie shut. Regardless of what kind of print, color, or the means of closing that you choose; these kimono style onesies can be fairly difficult to find at mass-merchant retails stores, as they tend to be slightly more expensive to produce. For this reason I would suggest searching online, or on this very site for a more alternative fashion statement.
