What in the world am I going to dress up as for Halloween? Especially now that I am pregnant, and my belly is starting to show? While you might not believe me, there are literally thousands of costume ideas for pregnant women. Unfortunately, several mass-market retailers won’t cater to your pregnant form during this time of the year. However, some specialty Halloween stores and online boutiques will offer pregnancy-friendly costumes for you to purchase. Otherwise, you can choose from a few of the ideas below; and utilize a little bit of creativity to create your own.
Chances are you have already spent hours trying to find costume ideas for your pregnant form, and are probably coming up empty-handed when it comes to that perfect outfit. While some may require you to be a little bit more comfortable with your pregnant shape, others will cover that baby-bump with ease. Seriously, there is nothing that screams Halloween quite like the fragrance and glowing eyes that have been carved out. It just so happens that this Halloween staple, also lends itself well to the pregnant form. All you have to do is simply paint your baby-bump with orange non-toxic paint, and add in your classic Jack-o-Lantern face. You will wear either ordinary street clothes, or can top it off with a flannel shirt and a straw hat; which will create a scare-crow look. Just keep in mind to un-button the lower half, and tie it above that prominent life-giving belly of yours! * Keeping along the theme of food, you might even wish to go as a watermelon. Somewhat similar to the jack-o-lantern; you will paint green stripes on your belly (taking care that they are two different shades). You can dress like a farmer if you’d like, or another friendly face at your local farmers market; and “carry” around that melon. * Here fishy fishy! Why not go as a fish bowl? Utilizing your painting skills; by painting a gold-fish (or beta) on your tummy, adding on some bubbles and wearing a light blue outfit for the water. How adorable is that? Just don’t forget to feed the fish!! * Bun-in-the-oven. We have all heard this key phrase during pregnancy. For this reason, it is exceedingly funny to poke fun at it. Simply paint a loaf of bread on your stomach, and dress up in that sexy chef outfit that got you pregnant in the first place! * Time for some peek-a-boo before baby arrives? If you or a friend hold some artistic talent, you can always paint a baby peeking from outside of your belly. All that is required after that, is your normal street clothes; or if you must you can always dress up in a cut-out hospital gown for added flair.
