Selecting the right bed for your toddlerThroughout parenthood, there will be several questions that you will ask yourself, friends, and your pediatrician. As with moving your child to a toddler bed; you can usually anticipate moving your child during this milestone in his or her life, around two to three years of age. Avoid any head-boards that might pose a risk of strangulation or falling through if not pushed up against the wall. Budget also plays a vital role in selecting your child’s new bed; often times being the deciding factor on what you decide to purchase. However no matter the bed frame, head board, or sheets that you choose; the mattress is by far one of the key elements to selecting that perfect bed. It is important with toddlers, much like it was with infants; that you select a firm mattress that has been constructed well. Whether it be a box spring, or a set platform bed; you should try to find a stain-resistant top to prevent stains, tears, and holes; as children are rough on their beds. Make sure to purchase a mattress that comes from a well-known manufacturer who caters to children’s needs such as; Sealy, Serta, Tempurpedic, or Posturpedic. All of which have a wonderful reputation for that sleep-right mattress, that will have your child dreaming in no-time-flat. Remember that after you have selected that perfect bed and mattress, the next step is to find the right bedding.
