Storing your childs old clothes properlyWhether you are a first time parent, or a parent many-times over; children never cease to amaze us in how fast they grow. It would seem that it is a very short window from infancy to toddlerhood, and toddlerhood on to their teenage years. Of course due to all of this growing, chances are you are now stock-piling countless numbers of clothes. This of course will call for you to make some decisions. If you are planning on having another child, chances are it is a good idea to keep some of those clothes around; to help stave off some of the first-time parent clothing purchases you had to make in the past. However if this isn’t in your near-future, and you’d just like to store away some of your infant’s clothes for keep-sakes until you can turn them into scrap-booking wonders; you of course will need to store them in some fashion within your home. Remember that after you have stock-piled your basic necessities such as One pieces for your first child, you will be left with many different outfits to store after he or she outgrows them. The first step in storing these clothes is doing laundry. Yes, while you are probably not going to be using them for a while; there is little point to store dirty or musty clothes. They have many different options out there for you to choose from as far as storing your child’s old clothes. Whether the large plastic bins are your choice, or even the space-saver bags appeal to you more; they all have their pluses. However, I would suggest steering clear of any cardboard boxes; as it can attract more insect life into your home and no one wants that. The containers should be leak-proof, and should have a lid that closes tightly. You will of course fold these clothes to optimize your storage capacity. Taking care to separate them in seasons and sizes; which will make utilizing them at a later date far easier. You may even wish to label your container so you know what it contains at a simple glance, rather than needing to dig through countless bins once your new little one has arrived, you decide to scrapbook, or give to charity. Lastly you should find a spot that is going to be out-of-the-way when storing these clothes. You probably aren’t going to want to utilize your child’s closet for storage throughout their lives. For this reason basements, extra bedrooms, and garages make wonderful places to store your extra baby clothes. When it comes to taking the clothes out of storage; if you have used any plastic bins I would still suggest re-washing them before use again. However, if you have used a storage bag; chances are you will be fine to use them out of the package! Related information topics:Cheap maternity clothes |
