Summer Apparel for Infants

Your baby has reached its first summer months, and winter's clothes are simply too warm. How do you dress your baby for summer? Obviously, your baby's skin isn't ready for the harsh rays of the sun but you don't want your infant to be uncomfortably hot, either. Choose clothing that adequately covers your baby's body but is loose fitting and comfortable.
The first thing to look for in summer baby clothes is the right fabric. Cotton is the best choice, since it lets the skin breathe and wicks perspiration away from your baby´s skin. You'll want to avoid fabrics that are shiny or slick, like rayon. These will trap heat next to the child´s body and can be very uncomfortable in warm weather.
Boys’ clothes are fairly simple. Choose from loose t-shirts, muscle shirts and shorts that should be right for those hot days. Girls’ clothes are far more varied and come in many fun summer colors. Choose from T-shirts and shorts, skirts or sun dresses for your little girl. Just be sure that you are selecting the right fabric and avoid skirts and dresses with lots of frills and ruffles, which can also trap heat.
Clothing designed for sports is often a good idea, as well and you´ll find more of this in the boys clothing section than the girls’ area. Sports clothing include mesh shirts and cotton socks to keep feet dry and blister-free.
