Tips for organizing your childs clothes 2

There are many organizational items out there to help you with your child’s clothing. However, which ones prove to be the best? Which one will fit your needs the most? Well, there are so many to choose from; why not take a few handy tips from this two-part article series meant to help you get a handle on the clutter?

1. While it seems like a simple solution. Shelves can help you to keep your child’s room neat and clean of any rampant clothes. Since an infant’s clothes are so small, they can tend to get overwhelmed in a massive drawer meant for an adult. Instead, you can line them up on open shelves; doubling as a neat-and-tidy means of displaying those adorable little clothes. If this isn’t your idea of cleanliness, you might opt for enclosed shelves such as in a closet. Giving you the ease-of-access of an open shelf, however it is hidden from the eyes of those who might visit.

2. Baskets make a great way to store your child’s clothes. Not only is it an organizational tool, but they double as a decorative addition to your child’s room. Simply place them on some floating shelves, on top of the dresser, or even in a closet.

3. Drawer dividers are a handy tool, if you have already bought your child a nursery sized dresser. Since their clothes can be so small, you might want to use drawer dividers which come in canvas or plastic; to help keep them neatly contained.

4. What do you do about those tiny little booties and shoes? Well, a few specialty boutiques offer pint-sized shoe organizers. Similar to the adult-sized shoe organizers, simply slide your child’s shoes into the slots; and hang it onto the bar in your child’s closet. Some other shoe organizers might be available as well, as a stand alone or a ceiling mount variety.

5. Clear out the clutter! Once your child grows out of clothing; keep the clothes that are too small and too big in plastic bins in an organized stack within the closet. This will ensure that they are always at-hand if you have another child, or when your child needs that next size up in his or her wardrobe. Do not substitute with cardboard boxes, as they can allow moisture and bugs inside. Nothing is worse than having to re-do laundry, because of a soggy box.
